  • New Day

Oh, what's this? Dave is a-blogging once again? Why ever could that be? Is he guest-blogging, perhaps? Using someone else's (stolen) internet? No, the truth is that he is online in his very own house. Thanks to the good people at Vodafone (apologies for my hatred of you beforehand-oh, and the pouring red paint over you-oh, no, wait that was Anna Wintour) I have broadband at home now!!!! That means that the blog is back!

  • Working In A Coalmine

    Wednesday 24 June 2009
Well, actually it is working in a turf mine, except that turf doesn't have to be mined. Anyway, I spent the day painting the rest of the wall, then the other wall, then sticks into the shed, then moving crap to be disposed of in Ann's. I also was in one of the worst moods ever, with the "Wicked Witch of the West" music playing in my head every time I walked somewhere. That is, until I checked my phone before dinner. There was a message from Aislinn saying that the results of our exams were up online, so I went over to Aiden to check them. I passed everything, with Honours 2:1's in both History and English, as well as 60 in Contract Law (which I thought I failed!) and (wait for it.....) 70 in Constitutional law! I was happier than a clam on Prozac, and danced around the living room for a good ten minutes. Of course, my spirits were dampened a little because we had to go to the bog after dinner, but it turned out not to be so bad. It only took about two hours, and we don't have to go back until Saturday now. Hurray!
  • Summer In The City

    Tuesday 23 June 2009
Well, actually, Summer in the small-town-with-less-than-ten-thousand-people-and-everybody-knows-each-other-or-at-least-it-seems-that-way would be a more accurate (if more challenging to say) title, but that's not a song. Or ever worth even being a song. Anyway, I spent the day in Mountmellick with Sabrina. We were in need of a catch-up, so we decided to meet up today at around eleven. We just spent the entire day walking around the town, talking non-stop. Literally non-stop. You would think we would get tired, but no. She took me the estates where all the skanky people live, like White Trash (we passed the house three times!) and we just laughed at everything while sitting by the river in the sun on what was probably the hottest day of the year so far. I get the feeling that even if Sab and I didn't speak for a decade, the minute we met back up everything would take up again instantly. It was great to just spend the day with Sab, as an escape from the madness that is my house.
  • Didn't Leave Nobody But The Baby

    Saturday 20 June 2009
Ok, so plans, like most things, can fall to crap right before your eyes. I mean, on Thursday, I was looking forward to going to Dublin to do some shopping. Now we're not able to go because my Dad's company is closed, which could be permanent. Instead, I get to spend next week working sun up until sun down with the mountain of stuff he has for us to do. Great. However, I have been thinking about my screenplay a lot over the past few days, and I am determined to have it finished by the end of the summer. I also think I'm going to change the setting and most of the characters. The only ones I'm happy with so far are Luke and Elaine. Plus, I haven't really given any thought about where the plot was supposed to go. I think it's fair to say that it needs a lot of work. I've also had an idea to do something I have wanted to do for a long time now: podcasts. I know that they're basically verbal blog entries, but I thought it would be fun to have them instead of just writing everything. Plus, I also can use sound effects in podcasts, which I can't do in blogs.
